截至 2026 年 4 月，美国律师协会（American Bar Association，简称 ABA）共认证 199 所法学院及法律教育机构（数据来源：ABA 法律教育与律师资格准入部门 2026 年度年报）。其中 196 所位于美国本土各州及哥伦比亚特区，3 所位于境外（波多黎各 2 所、加拿大 1 所）。所有认证法学院均提供经 ABA 审查合格的 Juris Doctor（JD）学位课程，毕业生有资格参加美国任意州（除加利福尼亚州部分例外）的律师资格考试（Bar Exam）。
